The Principal is Moving! John Weeds will become Headmaster at Cranbrook School in Kent in September 2012.  The Association wishes him every success in his new post and hope that he, Sarah and the family will enjoy living in this lovely part of Kent.
New ORA President Dr Martin Parsons has been elected President.  Ken Brown has been appointed as Vice-President.
OR Dinner 2011 This was held in Big School on 26th November and was considered to be one of the most congenial gatherings in recent years.  Ian Hunter QC (1956 - 1963) was the guest speaker.  Frank Terry was able to come and is still in very good form at the age of 94!
Now we are an Academy! On 1st February 2011 Reading School became an Academy and is one of the first to do so following the coalition government's encouragement for more state schools to opt out of local government control.
Best State School The Sunday Times (14 Nov 2010) nominated Reading School as The Best State School in the UK based not only on consistent outstanding A level results but also on the wider education provided. View details
A-Level Results Sept 2010     Once again the school is in the top ten states schools.  35% of the results were A* and 43% were A.  The most popular subjects were maths, physics, chemistry and economics.  Congratulations to all concerned!

Voluntary Work at the Grace School South Africa Summer 2010 The OR Council has given financial support to 6 boys who will be doing voluntary work during this summer vaction at this school which cares for children with AIDS. Last year a similar trip took place.
ORs donate grand piano. May 2010 The OR Association has donated £11,000 for a new Yamaha piano which is now in Big School.
School Rowing May 2010 The OR Association is spending £2000 to undertake essential repairs to the Boat House.  A rowing legacy from an OR will further support this sport at the School.
